Multi Planet flyby mission for NASA that never was
Wired.com just released an article about a multi planetary mission that NASA had planned for the mid 1970's that would fly by Mars and Venus...I'm reading it right now, thought I share it
It is pretty senseless to fly past Venus, it would just have been a publicity stunt. Mars is the prize. I'm sure the cost for just a stunt was the killer, plus the fact that such a trip would fry the Astronauts with radiation that is today still a problem for any long duration mission.
